Yellow gold Submariner is one of those love-it-or-hate-it watches. On the wrist it's substantial - no getting around 150+ grams of solid 18k gold - and it commands attention in a way stainless never will. The 40mm case wears beautifully for me, though the weight takes some getting used to. Champagne-lume markers with black surround give it just enough edge to still feel like a Sub, not a dress watch. The value question is real - you're paying a significant premium over the steel version - but the presence is undeniable. Not for everyone, but I'm a fan.
