The Datejust 36 is honestly the watch that got me to respect Rolex, even if I'm all-in on Grand Seiko's finishing standards. It wears beautifully, the two-tone feels genuinely upscale without being loud, and the movement is rock solid reliable-you're not paying for innovation here, you're paying for a watch that just works forever. For the price it commands on the secondary market though, I'd still rather have a GS for the dial work, but if you want something that'll appreciate and never let you down, this is a legitimately good choice.
