The Octa Lune 42 is a seriously impressive watch-the movement is a work of art and it wears beautifully on the wrist-but at this price point I can't shake the feeling you're paying a premium for the FPJ name rather than getting proportionally more watch than competitors offer. Still, if you're into independent watchmaking and don't mind the cost of entry, it's undeniably excellent and will hold its value better than most.
Beautiful watch. Wish I had the money
The Octa Lune is undeniably beautiful and the movement is genuinely impressive, but at this price point I kept asking myself if I'd rather have two or three exceptional watches instead of one. It wears really well and feels substantial on the wrist, though-if understated haute horlogerie is your thing and you've got the budget, it's hard to argue against owning one. Just don't expect it to change your life like my Black Bay 58 did.
The Octa Quantième Perpétuel is undeniably impressive on paper-the perpetual calendar complication is genuinely useful and the movement finishing is top-tier-but man, it wears pretty large and the asking price is legitimately hard to justify unless you're all-in on haute horlogerie. If you want a serious annual calendar that actually feels good on the wrist, honestly, you might get more joy out of something like a GS Elegance or even stepping up into the Seiko Presage line; this just feels like it's asking you to pay a premium for exclusivity rather than a better everyday experience.
