The CODE 11.59 is a solid chrono with that modern AP DNA, but honestly at this price point I'd expect the finishing to feel more special-it's competent, not magical. The case wears well and the movement's reliable, but it doesn't have that "wow" factor that justifies the premium over some other options in the segment. If you're deep into AP's aesthetic and want something contemporary, it'll scratch the itch, but it's not going to change your life.
Look, the CODE 11.59 perpetual calendar is technically impressive-the movement is a real achievement and it wears better than you'd expect for something this complex. That said, at this price point you're paying a lot for the name and the openwork, and honestly the perpetual complication might be overkill unless you're actually planning to keep it wound for the next century. For me personally it doesn't check my boxes, but if you're into haute horlogerie and don't mind the size, it's a solid piece.
