So I've been tinkering with movements for a few months now, mostly Timex and Invicta stuff that I couldn't really hurt worse. Decided I was ready for something "nicer" and picked up a beat-up Seiko 5 with a 7S26 to work on. Went fine until I tried to replace the mainspring and somehow managed to let it unwind all over my bench like a metal slinky. Pretty sure I have it mostly back together but the watch is running about 2 minutes fast per day now. Anyone else completely destroy their first "real" movement and have tips for getting the amplitude back in line? Pretty humbling experience honestly.
