So I've officially lost the plot. Just picked up a Cartier Rotonde with the exposed tourbillon on the caseback, and I'm not even going to pretend it's about timekeeping. We all know tourbillons are basically mechanical jewelry at this point, but man, watching that cage rotate is pure brain candy. Already have a Seiko Presage Cocktail Time and a vintage Longines that I tell people are for 'serious collecting' but really I just like watching little spinning parts. Does anyone else justify their purchases with "well actually, the finishing is incredible" while secretly buying them for the hypnotic cage action?
